Palestine: The First Cloud State
The most promising use case of a cloud state is for the people of diaspora who seek to be more in touch with their roots and re-establish a national identity.
In the case of the Palestinians, this could not be further from the truth. Since 1948, international institutions, nation-states, and public actors have used the Palestinians as pawns in a global game of chess. From the promises of a right of return to statehood to basic human rights — the world has failed the Palestinian people and the only solution is one that deviates from conventionality or centralized authority.
