Bad Faith

Pure freedom is daunting. As the French existential philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre explains, man experiences a sort of ‘negative ecstasy’ when realizing the infinite number of choices he has. Rousseau takes it a step further by asserting “man is born free, but everywhere he is in chains.”
